It’s slightly large for breezy one-handed use – but no more so than an iPad mini 2, really. There are anti virus's you can upload to protect your kindle, a good one is "lookout". Reading a book is just wonderful, you can dim the screen if needed. Excellent picture, excellent video, and like I said the sound is great. I am still searching to be able to change the fonts. Excellent sound, but you cant upload wallpapers, there is no option to change a wallpaper, screensaver or anything. IN other words, you can only use the tablet holding the screen towards the object and take pics, not from the back of the tablet. There is only a front view, not something to easy to use. Also there is no option to reverse the camera, such as front view or back view. I have noticed that there is a camera but, you have to upload a camera app in order to use the camera. I can also save files to my kindle from my college and access them from my app "officesuite". This is a great size, not to big, not to small, perfect. " That is the only thing that the iPod has over this item. I personally love it due to being able to do everything I want to do just as on my laptop, I think the only thing you cant do is play the actual games on Facebook directly from the website. I was just sitting here thinking why not write a review on my kindle. Kindle Fire HD~ Newest Version~One of my Best Buys Overall, I think Amazon has a great little AFFORDABLE tablet here. I would give this 5 stars, but that would be reserved for when I can comment on the durability and the ease of fixing any issues that may crop up. I do wish that there was some ability to customize the look and arrangement of the on-screen items. It's a bit heavier than I was prepared for, but I had no idea what to expect, either. However, I think that this tablet is equipped to do everything that you want, from watching HD videos from the cloud or downloaded to the device, to silly gaming apps, to emails, to reading e-books. I have to say that other than a less-than-stellar battery life, I love this thing! Now, I am old enough that I was not raised on gadgets, so I don't need the latest and greatest device. I finally broke down and bought the Kindle Fire HD 8.9" primarily as an entertainment source for my 5 y/o during 600 mile trips to see family several times a year. I have had my eye on the Kindle Fire for a couple of years now.
